Volkan Işılay was born in 8 December 1992 in Istanbul. He started his acting carrier when he was 11 years old at Istanbul Municipal Theatre. He played at several TV Series as child actor. After this acting experience he trended to music. In 2005 he started to learn oboe and music theory at halftime education program of Istanbul State Conservatory. After he had education along 12 years he was accepted to Master Program of Oboe at the same University and graduated with the thesis of "Musical Analysis of Antonio Vivaldi's Op.8 No.12 C major and Tomaso Albinoni's Op.9 No.2 D minor Oboe Concertos". He's playing oboe at Taşplak Symphony Orchestra since 2015.

 He also had education of saxophone at Bahçeşehir University Jazz Certificate Program and now proceeding his PhD education at Istanbul University Musicology department.
